Jacques Nestlé - Le Désir Irrépressible

Born in Saarbrücken in 1907, encouraged by Matisse, shaped by Bauhaus, and hidden from history — Jacques Nestlé spent a lifetime painting in secret in his home studio in Paris. He died penniless in 1991, his artworks rescued from destruction. 

Artixa Gallery presents a rare collection of large-format gouaches and mixed media works on paper by Jacques Nestlé — bold abstractions from the 1960s where Expressionist impulse meets geometric precision. Decades after his death, the art world is finally taking notice.
